Biodegradable automobiles?

Cars are made from metal – usually. But recently a car made from flax and bioplastic (made from sugar beet) has been launched.  LINA is the first biocomposite vehicle.  As this article explains – “The complete chassis, the body of the car and the interior are all made of bio-based materials. The chassis is made of a combination of bio-composite and bio-plastic. The honeycomb structure bio-plastic, or PLA, is used as the core material…. It is enveloped in bio-composite sheets that have been composed on the basis of flax”.  Designed as a city car to carry four passengers, the vehicle weighs only 300 kg and is powered by an electric motor.
