Barlows – five years on

I’ve been taking a look back at how the blog has developed over the last five years.  One of the first operators that I blogged about was Barlows – the Sheffield based shopfittters.  I then blogged about them again in 2014.  So what’s going on now?

Their current website is considerably stripped down from their former websites, with fewer pages and videos.  Nonetheless they still articulate their key order qualifiers (“keeping everyone safe”) and order winners (“minimising disruption to your business” i.e. speed; and “being passionate about minimising defects” i.e. quality).   This is consistent with what they were saying in 2012.  They also explain how they deliver these order winners, principally in a video showing a Greggs retail outlet being refitted.  The deliver speed by off-site manufacture and modularisation of fittings, good project management, and just-in-time delivery or materials  They deliver quality by closely collaborating with their customers, by agreeing with them a site project plan, and having a quality driven culture.
