The digital automaker

This is Oliver Wyman’s take on how car manufacturers should operate in the digital world.    It identifies that this industry will be subject to digital disruption, just as many other industry sectors will be, as ‘digital companies’ move into the automotive industry.  The most evident example of this is the development of driverless cars by digital companies.  but other aspects of the automotive value chain are are also being threatened.

Above all traditional automakers should be agile in response to this threat.
