The new principles of brand leadership

Deloitte have studied 150 global brands across 28 countries to see how they are competing in today’s world.  At this site, you can download an executive summary of this report, or the full report.

They identify operators having adopted one of four approaches based on “leadership, structure, core values and culture” which they have labelled as:

  1. Y-prophets
  2. Free radicals
  3. Tiny titans
  4. Re-starts

Each of these has a web page devoted to it (click on links above), supported by an accompanying video.  This is all too much to discuss in one blog.  But one point I would make is that this demonstrates once again how important culture is in managing strategy (see page 300 of our book).
