A whole new meaning to “eating with your eyes”

There have been a number of reports recently about Pizza Hut enabling their customers to order from their menu with their mind.  This is slightly misleading – asPizza Hut’s “Subconscious menu” uses a digital display and eye tracking technology to design a pizza for you based on what ingredients you have looked at for the longest.  It does this in less than 3 seconds.  So it is your eyes, not your mind, that make the choice.  In the Daily Telegraph article there is a picture of what the digital display looks like.

It seems to me that what I would end up ordering is a ‘whatthehellisthat pizza’, having spent too long looking at an icon, trying to figure what the hell it is.
