Interesting perspective on multi-unit management from a ‘veteran’ operator

A few weeks ago we posted a series of blogs about the ubiquitisation strategy i.e. retail chain management.   In these we identified that managing a chain was different to managing a single operation.  And that there were alternative roles that a multi-unit manager could adopt.

We have just found this blog by Barry Miller that recounts his experience of developing his own chain of operations, within a franchise context.  Even with franchisor support, he clearly faced challenges.  And his insight into these is very interesting.
