Turning aeroplanes into footballs and shoes, as well as supporting international development

Excellent story about Southwest Airlines efforts to to recycle materials from their aircraft’s cabin interiors following a refit.  Amongst the materials available for recycling were 80,000 leather seat covers.  These have been used in Kenya to make footballs and shoes, in partnership with a number of development charities.  The article, and photo gallery accompanying it, goes on to look at the recycling initiatives of a range of other airlines.
