Research Insights: the global flight catering industry

For ten years, from 2000 onwards, I was the ITCA Professor of Production and Operations Management – in other words the world’s first and only professor of travel catering.  During this time I directed the Travel Catering Research Centre (TCRC), which comprised myself, a Research Officer, various PhD students, and academic Associates.  Even though this endowed chair ceased in 2010, I still get emails from students, teachers and industry professionals asking for information on, or assistance with, a wide range of topics.

So I thought it might help if I posted on this blog a link to the 55 reports and articles published by the TCRC, which can all be found online at the Surrey Research Insights website (and nowhere else).  Just type TCRC into their search tool and all 55 of the publications will be listed.  Two thirds of the publications listed are quarterly intelligence reports, wherein we forecasted demand for airline meals every three months.  This data is very much out of date.  However the articles and more recent annual forecast reports might be useful to anyone researching this area.
