1.6 million vehicles (partly) ‘made’ in Britain

Very insightful blog from Joe Greenwall, CEO of the Automotive Investment Organisation (AIO).  The UK automotive industry is thriving, but it turns out that despite having the expertise and resources to produce components for motor vehicles, only 30% are sourced from this country.  It is believed this could be shifted up to 80%, which would  add £3 billion to the UK economy.  This is largely why the AIO was set up – to provide finance and expertise to enable more components to be manufactured in the UK.
