Star Pubs and Bars to have a makeover

This press release from Heineken explains how they plan to develop their pub estate based on a £18.5 million investment.   The development plan is aimed at increasing the food offer in each outlet, as well as providing a ‘quality experience’.   The development plan includes:

  • refurbishment of the interior and exterior servicescapes
  • new equipment to support wifi and coffee sales
  • coaching and training for managers and employees

It’s interesting to note that Heineken is shifting their bars towards being more like a Starbucks, at the same time as Starbucks are experimenting with sales of alcohol to shift their coffee shops towards being more like bars…
