Wearable computing may transform work

Great report by Deloitte University Press on ‘wearables’ – smart glasses, watches, badges, and jewellery.   These are likely to be deployed in work situations where currently safety, logistics, or ‘normal practice’ make the use of hand held devices impractical.  They may be particularly useful where there is a need to monitor the environment (or the wearer) in order for the operation (or operator) to work effectively.   Such technology is already in use in a number of contexts – in the military, medicine, and the fitness and well being market.
