Big Data

So-called ‘big data’ has tended to be thought of in the marketing and consumer behaviour context, but it is increasingly being adopted by manufacturers and service providers.  Only this week it was announced that personal data held by GPs is to be made anonymous and used for medical research purposes, with patients’ permission.  Already such data from hospitals is being analysed for this purpose.
