Clear cut order winners….

Sometimes it is not easy to be entirely clear as to what a firm’s order winners are (and even firms themselves get this wrong).  But in petrol retailing it is relatively straightforward, as this survey demonstrates.   ASDA is the UK’s top petrol retailer, because drivers buy petrol on the basis of price and convenience (speed).   All the supermarket chains know this, so they deliberately price their petrol competitively to attract custom.  Since most people also do a weekly shop, they find it convenient to fill up the car, at the same time as they buy to fill their fridge, freezer and store cupboards.
