Why airlines went bust in 2012

Twelve airlines went out of business in 2012.  This article identifies who they were and the reasons why they are no longer in business.  It suggests that high cost of fuel and poor cash flow accounted for most of them.  We suspect that many of them were trying to operate in markets where the demand was not strong enough to ensure sufficient capacity.
