Robot bees?

As you know, we like to blog about robots – but normally this is in relation to their use in manufacturing plants or medical contexts.  But a recent report in The Economist identifies that scientists are working on developing flying robots, the size of a fly, in order to potentially address the problem of pollinating crops.  This is still at the experimental stage, as no real breakthrough can occur until batteries are made light enough and small enough to power each mini-robot independently.  But watch this space…
