Laura Ashley uses market power?

News item on the BBC reveals that the Federation of Private Business (FPB) is upset with fashion and homeware company Laura Ashley.  Apparently this company wrote to all its suppliers and asked for (demanded?) a 10% reduction in cost prices .  The FPB clearly thinks this is poor practice and that Laura Ashley should be more sophisticated in its dealing with suppliers.  We tend to agree.

In our book, power relationships in supply chains are discussed on pages 47-48, and supplier relationship management is explained on pages 133-134
