Alaskan Airlines business model

There’s a great article in The New York Times that discusses in some depth Alaskan Airlines.  The airline industry is notorious for being highly competitive and unprofitable. And Alaskan flies into and out of destinations that are extremely hazardous and often closed for months at a time due to the weather conditions.  Despite this, the airline is very profitable, has a great punctuality record, and is loved by its loyal customer base.  To find out how it does this, you’ll have to read the article….
