Dyson grows in Singapore and Wiltshire

Dyson features as the opening Case Insight to chapter 16.  This report in The Manufacturer demonstrates their continued success – based on R &D in the UK and manufacturing in the Far East.  The company has invested £50 million in a new plant in Singapore to make digital motors.  This is highly automated, with only 13 operators, but 50 robots.  It’s designed to meet the growing demand from the Chinese and south-east Asian markets.  At the same time, the research and engineering workforce at their Wiltshire HQ continues to expand.
