Trophy manufacture still a ‘craft business’

Interesting photo story on the BBC Business website focusing on how sporting trophys, such as the FA Cup and ATP Trophy, are made and restored.  It shows these items being crafted in the Essex company Thomas Lyte.   This blog tends to focus on the large scale manufacturers and service companies, so it is easy to think that all products are mass produced.  But high value sporting trophies require skilled silversmiths to hand craft these items to very specific criteria.  Great series of photographs showing how this is done.
