… and now – robot art

We had just finished blogging about Baxter, the adaptive manufacturing robot, when we came across this story.   Ibis Hotels as part of an art project will be installing sensors in some of their hotel rooms, so that a painting can be drawn of guests’ body movements whilst they are sleeping.  The data is transmitted to a studio in Paris, where a robot will use a paintbrush and acrylic paint to produce a highly individualised artwork.   There’s even a video explaining it all….

We’re not going to comment – the press reports on this story have exhausted almost every possible epigram or witticism.
