Winning international orders

An interesting story on the BBC Business website about how successful manufacturing companies in North East England have been in developing international markets for their products.  One of the companies featured is Aesica Pharmaceuticals, who are successfully competing against companies in China and India by focusing on “a streamlined, efficient operation, using a lot of automation”.  This strategy is very similar to that of Actavis Pharmaceuticals, who feature as Operations Insight 6.1 (page 157-158) in our book.
